My name is Rajko Blazic, I am a sculptor and have been teaching Sculpture as a docent on the Academy of Arts and Conservation SOC in Belgrade from the year 2000.

My artistic engagement is closely linked to my work with students as well as to constant exploration of sculpting materials similar to stone. I have specialized in working with all types of stone and have used all the acquired experience in processing of a new sculpting material I found — relief stone mass.

Systematic research of new sculpting materials which I have been conducting from the beginning of my engagement at the Academy (2000) has produced a new material which I named relief stone mass. This material has proved to be extremely useful in the interior architecture and can easily be combined with natural and artificial decorative materials on the interior vertical areas such as hotel lounges, business buildings, banks, shopping malls, residential buildings, restaurants, underground stations, theatres, monumental pillars, 3D sculptures etc.

The main feature of the material is that it can, after final honing, completely resemble stone and at the same time requires half as much work time per square meter. It is also cheaper because of the low price of the base material and has a guaranteed inner durability.

This material can be used for direct modelling of reliefs or bas reliefs, pouring into molds — making reproductions, making 3D sculptures or simulating broken stone of different color shades etc. With use of this material architectural units such as concrete props finally get their decorative visage.

Relief stone mass does not pollute the environment and does not have a harmful effect on our health. All residue is used for next mixing — it is not wasted. If a mounted decorative element must be removed, its leftovers can be added to the particles of broken stone and used in constructing residential buildings, roads, levelling of roads etc.

I am interested in cooperation and offer my experience as a researcher, university professor as well as a new sculpting material to all universities, companies and various institutions specialized in arts, architecture and interior design who may recognize their own economic benefit in the cooperation. This new material can not only contribute to the improvement of the quality of living spaces but also attract a large number of students through a specialized subject taught at the academies of arts or architecture, who would be able to find their own economic interest in working with it in the future. I have created a course programme for stone and stone masses and written the following two coursebooks: Methodology of working with sculpting materials (stone, stone masses, clay and plaster) and Relief stone masses with sculpture restoration.
